Celebrated comedian Jerry Seinfeld will be spending one of just two dates in the UK at the NIA, Birmingham next spring. The Brooklyn-born comedian will visit the arena on Friday 11 May, marking his first visit to the city.

Most famous for his hit series ‘Seinfeld’, which ran for just short of a decade, the comedian will be performing his first Midlands gig. Hailed as “the master stand-up comic of his generation” and “the best comedian of our time” by the Washington Post, Seinfeld has an uncanny ability to joke about the little things in life that relate to audiences everywhere.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island, Jerry Seinfeld quickly became one of the hottest comedians on the block, with his career taking off after a spot on ‘The Tonight Show’, aged just 27. This was followed by appearances on Letterman and similar shows, which then led him to team up with Larry David to create ‘The Seinfeld Chronicles’ in 1989.

Soon shortened to ‘Seinfeld’, the show went on to have a nine-year run on NBC with its final episode receiving a national audience of 75 million people.

After retiring from the TV series, Seinfeld then returned to stand-up and later went on to star in, write and produce the DreamWorks animated hit film ‘Bee Movie’. He teamed back up with the cast of ‘Seinfeld’ to appear in last season’s ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’, much to the delight of viewers.

Now returning to the stage, once again, Jerry Seinfeld will appear at the NIA on Friday 11 May 2012 for a special one-off visit. This follows in the footsteps of other famous comedians like Peter Kay, Lee Evans and Paddy McGuinness, who have all appeared at the arena. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 16 December, priced at £40.00 & £47.50 (plus booking and transaction fees). Tickets are available from The Ticket Factory: www.theticketfactory.com or 0844 338 8000.
