COMPETITION: Win tickets to the Cycle Show at the NEC
- With some of the world’s best known cycling brands set to take centre stage at the NEC, Birmingham for this year’s Cycle Show, visitors will be able to grab a sneak preview of the very latest bikes, accessories and fashions for 2013.
Whether you are looking to try out the latest mountain or road bikes, get an autograph from some of Britain’s top pros including Olympic Gold medallists Joanna Rowsell and Ed Clancy, or see top flight BMX riders battle it out for a cut of a £5000 prize purse, the show promises a packed day of cycling related fun.
Regular visitors to the NEC might be unaware that there is now a 1km mountain bike route running through woodland in the grounds of the venue. Visitors will be able to choose from a top selection of 2013 bikes before setting off for a spin around the Dare2b course.
The outdoor WASP Road Bike test track is being made electric bike friendly this year so visitors can see what the bikes in this fast-growing sector offer compared to traditional commuter bikes.
This year’s show will also feature a new Tour Ride Sportive on the Sunday, offering two distances – a 96k challenge and a 150k pro ride – that you can sign up for. The sportive, which will be the last in the Tour Ride series for the 2012 season, will allow riders to head out into idyllic Warwickshire countryside before heading back to the NEC for a good look around the show.
The 2012 show will also see the addition of a Super Crit circuit race around the NEC on the Saturday evening, offering a fantastic event for riders and a great spectacle for onlookers after a day at the show.
This year’s show is set to be more family friendly than ever before too, with free tickets for every child under 5 who attends with a paying adult and tickets for just £1 for under 14s attending with a paying adult.
