Coventry comedian and Man Like Mobeen star Guz Khan has become the face of the latest Walkers crisps ad, starring alongside none other than the Spice Girls.
Appearing in the brand’s latest publicity campaign, the iconic girl band are shown running to the home of their number one fan Dev – played by Khan – surprising him with confetti and hugs before handing him a golden ticket to join their current tour.

Once inside his house, with his mum by his side, Dev struggles to share his Walkers crisps with the girls; resulting in a bit of a tussle and an almighty comical fall-out that has the fuming Spice Girls heading off without him. Though they do take his mum along instead!
It’s the first time the West Midlands stand-up comedian and actor Guz Khan has appeared alongside the Spice Girls, who were ecstatic to be working with Walkers against for the first time in 22 years.

Alongside Geri Horner, Mel C, Mel B and Emma Bunton, veteran Walkers brand ambassador Gary Lineker also makes a cameo in the new publicity campaign. Victoria Beckham does not appear in the advert and it is not certain if she will be making any appearances during the 2019 reunion tour.
All five Spice Girls appeared in an advert for Walkers crisps back in 1997, which also featured Gary Lineker alongside the newly popular music stars. The band members also appeared on their own special Walkers crisps bags back in the 90s, at a time when their faces were adorning all kinds of products, including Pepsi cans.
The Spice Girls are performing six dates across the UK this month, including playing Coventry on June 3rd.
The ad premiered earlier tonight at 8.10pm on ITV 1, in a commercial break during the broadcast of the Britain’s Got Talent final.

The Spice Girls and Guz Khan’s Walkers promotion is part of a competition for a Spice Girls fan to win a place on the band’s official tour, which began yesterday. The company will be announcing the real ‘super fan’ winner on June 5th.
Guz Khan recently appeared in the second series of Man Like Mobeen on BBC Three, where he plays Birmingham native Mobeen in the hit comedy programme filmed in the Small Heath area of the city. He also stars in recent Netflix show Turn Up Charlie, alongside Idris Elba.
The Spice Girls tour dates include shows in Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol and London. They will be joined on their latest tour by singer Jess Glynne.
