Police cordoned off the location and traffic diverted as fire crews and ambulance service attended the nightmarish scene.

The horrific collision, which looked like the shocking aftermath of a car stunt out of a Fast & Furious film according to a local resident, involved two vehicles.

A white SEAT Leon reportedly tore through a street sign, ripped apart pedestrian railings and smashed into a brick wall while a second car was spotted just a few metres away in the middle of Bordesley Green East.

The cars were totally wrecked with bonnets torn open, doors hanging loose and shattered glass and debris from the accident scattered about all over the place.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service, said: “White Watch from Ward End responded to this RTC last night.

“Occupants of the vehicles conveyed to hospital. As you can see, the SEAT Leon went through the pedestrian railings, through a street sign, into a wall and ended up on the path.”

An alarmed local resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, told I Am Birmingham: “There’s too many crazy and selfish drivers tearing down our streets. Sometimes during the day but mostly at night.

“They use the mains roads and side streets as race tracks and people have lost their lives.

“A poor guy got killed up by Heybarnes Road, and a mother and child were hit by a driver in Little Bromwich Road. That’s just yards away from this latest crash!

“Another kid was killed near The Broadway.

“It’s young men in fast cars, high on that nitrous oxide sold in silver canisters. These dangerous fools probably think they’re in a Fast & Furious film.

“People have died. This speeding nonsense has to stop.”
