Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a cyclist tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run collision on Tuesday night in Birmingham.

The man was riding an e-bike in Yardley when he was struck by a car just before midnight on 1 August.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a cyclist riding an e-bike was tragically killed when he was hit by a car at the junction with Moat Lane and Vera Road in Sheldon at 11.55pm last night.

The victim – aged 22 – was riding an e-bike and sadly died at the scene despite the best efforts of police officers.

The vehicle that struck the poor cyclist, believed to be a white Seat Leon, sped away from the scene and police enquiries are ongoing to trace the car.

Authorities have cordoned off the location while inquiries continue.

Three men, aged 17, 19 and 20, were arrested from an address in Yardley in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.

A police spokesperson, said: “We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Moat Lane, Coventry Road and Vera Road areas just before, or after, the collision.

“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage.”
