Birmingham Rep and Birmingham’s LEGOLAND Discovery Centre have joined forces to create a magical mini-version of the stage production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, complete with its famous landmarks.

Over two sets, the world of Narnia is portrayed through LEGO bricks, including the characters of Aslan, the White Witch, Mr Tumnus and Lucy, peeping out of the wardrobe. There’s even a LEGO lamp post!

To celebrate this delightful collaboration, which visitors to the city’s LEGOLAND Discovery Centre can view until Wednesday, 31 January, The Rep and LEGOLAND are launching a competition on Thursday 15 December on Instagram for free tickets to both The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and to the Discovery Centre.

Cath Whitefield, who plays the White Witch, said: “I loved LEGO as a child, so to have my character built out of bricks is very cool.”

The sets were built by LEGO Master Model Builder Michelle Oakes. There are around 530 bricks and it took nine hours to build both sets.

Michelle Oakes commented: “I really enjoyed this as I loved the book as a child, and it was so much fun to build.”

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is running at the Birmingham Rep until Sunday, 28 January.
