A evening of events and readings to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide have taken place in Birmingham, ahead of Srebrenica Memorial Day. Organised by national charity Remembering Srebrenica, the gathering took place at Birmingham cathedral in Colmore Row and was attended by faith leaders, local children and members of the city’s Bosnian community.
It’s Poppy Day in Birmingham today, ahead of Remembrance Sunday on 11th November. Volunteers, members of the military forces and veterans were out in full force across the city, selling poppies and raising awareness about The Royal British Legion and their work.

The Birmingham Lord Mayor made an appearance at a Family Fun Day in Bordesley Green yesterday, organised by community organisation Seek for Change. Cllr Yvonne Mosquito met local parents and children at the free local event which was held at The Green in Priorygate Way.
