The much-loved centrepiece to last year’s Commonwealth Games – Ozzy the bull – has been officially unveiled in his new home at Birmingham New Street station. The special ceremony – with Sharon Osbourne in attendance – took place on Wednesday (26 July) with a brass band entertaining the crowds.

Legendary Birmingham band Duran Duran are headlining the opening ceremony celebrations at the Commonwealth Games 2022 tonight. Steven Knight, the creative force behind the BBC smash-hit drama series Peaky Blinders, is also on hand as executive producer of the opening ceremony and says he has a few surprises for the audience.
Black Sabbath were today honoured on the Westside BID’s Walk of Stars; Birmingham’s equivalent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Band member Tony Iommi received the honour presented by Lady Mayoress Yvonne Mosquito with guests including local comedian Jasper Carrott and the family of Iommi.
Rock icon Ozzy Osborne is to get star billing in his native Birmingham by having a Midland Metro tram named after him. The city’s own Prince of Darkness will be in town to meet the tram bearing his name this Thursday 26th May.
