Birmingham-based Sampad South Asian Arts & Heritage has been awarded nearly £40,000 worth of funding for a vital community project in one of the city’s most deprived neighbourhoods. The Baring Foundation awarded the money to the arts organisation to help them continue to develop creative initiatives to aid vulnerable women in north-east Birmingham.

A Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club player has written a book about tackling mental health struggles in relation to the national sport. Winger Aquile Smith has published ‘Rugby Insight: Mental Health to Mental Wealth’, which focuses on raising awareness and countering some of the stigma around mental health in sport and more specifically, rugby.
