Birmingham-based Sampad South Asian Arts & Heritage has been awarded nearly £40,000 worth of funding for a vital community project in one of the city’s most deprived neighbourhoods. The Baring Foundation awarded the money to the arts organisation to help them continue to develop creative initiatives to aid vulnerable women in north-east Birmingham.

Aston Villa’s Andre Green grabbed a paint brush and lent a hand at Saathi House this week when he visited one of the Aston Villa Foundation’s community projects. A group of students on the Foundation’s Pre-Apprenticeship Programme volunteered their time to redecorate the building, that helps underprivileged women and children from ethnic minorities.
